𝘠𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘢 spp.

Description

The YerSpp qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Yersinia spp.  detection by using qPCR. The Yersinia genus comprises Gram-negative bacteria within the family Enterobacteriaceae, known for their ability to adapt to a wide range of environments, including soil, water, and animal hosts. The genus includes several species, with Y. pestis, Y. enterocolitica, and Y. pseudotuberculosis being the most clinically significant. These bacteria can be found in diverse ecological niches, including the gastrointestinal tracts of animals, where they often act as commensals or opportunistic pathogens. Y. pestis, the causative agent of plague, is primarily transmitted through the bite of infected fleas, although it can also spread via respiratory droplets during outbreaks of pneumonic plague. In contrast, Y. enterocolitica and Y. pseudotuberculosis are commonly transmitted through the ingestion of contaminated food or water, or through direct contact with infected animals.
