Avian leukosis virus subgroup A
Description
The ALV-A dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of all serotypes of Avian leukosis virus subgroup A species by using qPCR. Avian leukosis virus belongs to a family of viruses called retroviruses, single-stranded RNA enveloped viruses. ALV infection in chickens is known to induce increased mortality, tumors, delayed growth, and suboptimal egg production. Avian leukosis virus have been divided into 10 envelope subgroups, A through J, based on host range, receptor interference patterns, and neutralization by antibodies. The subgroup A is included in the noncytopathic group.
