Avian infectious bronchitis virus 4-91-like

Description

The AIBV 4-91-like RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Avian infectious bronchitis virus 4-91-like detection by using qPCR. Avian infectious bronchitis virus is an enveloped, positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Coronaviridae family and the Gammacoronavirus genus. It primarily infects chickens, targeting their respiratory, reproductive and urinary systems. The resulting disease, infectious bronchitis, is highly contagious and is characterised by coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, reduced egg production and poor egg quality. The 4/91 strain, also known as 793B and CR88, is a variant that has become widespread due to its antigenic differences from classical strains and often requires strain-specific vaccination strategies. Transmission occurs rapidly through aerosols, direct contact, and contaminated equipment or personnel. The virus is globally distributed, particularly impacting areas with intensive poultry production. The assay is designed to detect the 4/91 strain, 4/91-like variants, and genetically related strains exhibiting high sequence homology.
