Actinomortierella wolfii
Description
The ActWol dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Actinomortierella wolfii detection by using qPCR. Actinomortierella wolfii is a pathogenic fungus belonging to the Mortierellaceae family. A. wolfii is the causative agent of the mycotic abortion and mycotic pneumonia in cattle. In fact, both diseases are linked and after a mycotic abortion the animal may suffer from fatal pneumonia. In immunocompromised patients, with a weakened immune system, can lead to invasive mycosis which can spread to several internal organs. Distribution is worldwide and has been reported in Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
