Chlamydia muridarum
Description
The ChlMur qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Chlamydia muridarum detection by using qPCR. Chlamydia muridarum is a Gram-negative, obligate intracellular bacterium that belongs to the Chlamydiaceae family. It primarily infects rodents, particularly mice, and is used as a model organism to study chlamydial infections and host immune responses. In its natural hosts, the pathogen is associated with respiratory and genital tract infections, with clinical manifestations ranging from asymptomatic infection to inflammation of affected tissues. Transmission mainly occurs through direct contact and exposure to infected secretions. The bacterium is distributed globally in laboratory and wild rodent populations.
