Escherichia coli Fimbria F17
Description
The EscCol-F17 dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Escherichia coli Fimbria F17 detection by using qPCR. Escherichia coli bacteria typically reside in the intestines of humans and animals. Most E. coli strains are harmless and play an essential role in maintaining a healthy human intestinal tract. However, some strains are pathogenic, meaning they can cause illness, including diarrhoea or infections outside the intestinal tract. The types of E. coli that can cause diarrhoea may be transmitted through contaminated food or water, or via contact with infected animals or humans. F17 fimbriae are produced by specific strains of E. coli that are implicated in diarrhoea and septicemia outbreaks, particularly in calves and lambs.
