Hepatitis C virus
Description
The HCV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of Hepatitis C virus by using qPCR. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an enveloped, positive-sensesingle-stranded RNA virusof the family Flaviviridae. Structural proteins made by the hepatitis C virus include Core protein, E1 and E2; nonstructural proteins include NS2, NS3, NS4A, NS4B, NS5A, and NS5B. Hepatitis C virus is the major cause of liver disease in humans. Like many viruses, the hepatitis C virus is gradually inactivated outside the host. The kit is designed to include all the genetic heterogeneity of the HCV, including genotype 4, the most common variant of the virus in the Middle East and Africa, particularly Egypt.
