Hepatitis E virus

Description

The HEV RT-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of Hepatitis E virus by using qPCR. Hepatitis E virus is a liver inflammation caused byinfection with aviruscalledhepatitis E virus (HEV). HEV is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA icosahedral virus with a 7.5 kilobase genome. HEV has a fecal-oral transmission route. There is only one serotype of the virus and classification is based on the nucleotide sequences of the genome. Genotype 1 has been classified into five subtypes. The number of genotype 2 can be classified into two subtypes. Genotypes 3 and 4 have been into ten and seven subtypes respectively.
