The HAdV-1 qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Human adenovirus 1 detection by using qPCR. Human adenovirus 1 is a serotype of Human mastadenovirus C (HAdV-C), a double-stranded DNA virus belonging to the Adenoviridae family, characterized by its non-enveloped icosahedral structure. Human mastadenovirus C is associated with respiratory diseases. Clinical manifestations range from mild cold-like symptoms to acute respiratory infections, most commonly in infants. Human adenovirus 1 has also been reported as a potential pathogen associated with hepatitis in immunocompromised patients. The virus is transmitted through respiratory droplets, direct contact with contaminated surfaces, and the fecal-oral route.
