Human bocavirus 1
Description
The HBoV-1 dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Human bocavirus 1 detection by using qPCR. Human bocavirus is an icosahedral, non-enveloped, monocatenary DNA virus in the genus Bocaparvovirus belonging to the Parvoviridae family. HBoV is classified in four genotypes (HBoV-1 to 4) based in the genomic sequence of non-structural genes. HBoV-1 and HBoV-3 (and Gorilla bocaparvovirus) are members of species Primate bocaparvovirus 1 whereas viruses HBoV-2 and HBoV-4 belong to species Primate bocaparvovirus 2. HBoV-1 is strongly implicated in causing some cases of lower or upper respiratory tract infection, especially in young children. Can be frequently co-detected with other viruses and real-time PCR detection assays have proven to be the most sensitive and specific diagnostic tool.
