Human influenza type A virus

Description

The HIAV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Human influenza type A virus detection by using qPCR. Influenza A viruses are negative-sense, single-stranded, segmented RNA viruses belonging to the Alphainfluenzavirus genus on the Orthomyxoviridae family. Influenza type A virus is responsible of a respiratory disease with high morbidity and low mortality in birds and mammals. The several subtypes are labelled according to an H number (for the type of hemagglutinin) and an N number (for the type of neuraminidase). There are 17 different H antigens (H1 to H17) and nine different N antigens (N1 to N9). Each virus subtype has mutated into a variety of strains with differing pathogenic profiles; some are pathogenic to one species but not others, some are pathogenic to multiple species.
