The HIBV RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Human influenza type B virus detection by using qPCR. Influenza B viruses are negative-sense, single-stranded, segmented RNA viruses belonging to the Betainfluenzavirus genus on the Orthomyxoviridae family. There are two known circulating lineages of Influenza B virus based on the antigenic properties of the surface glycoprotein hemagglutinin. The lineages are termed Yamagata and Victoria. It is one of the responsibles of the annual flu and Influenza B virus is only known to infect humans and seals.
