Human respiratory syncytial virus B
Description
The HRSV-B dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Human respiratory syncytial virus B detection by using qPCR. Human respiratory syncytial virus is an enveloped, non-segmented, negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus of the family Paramyxoviridae. HRSV is a leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections in infants, elderly, and immunosuppressed. Due to the wide diversity of viral strains the species has been classified in two major groups HRSV-A and HRSV-B, as well as multiple genotypes. While HRSV-A strains can be grouped into seven distinct genotypes, there have been at least 37 HRSV-B genotypes described. There are no known vectors for these viruses and transmission is thought to be primarily by aerosol droplets and contact.
