Infectious salmon anemia virus
The ISAV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for Infectious salmon anemia virus detection by using qPCR. Infectious salmon anemia virus is the only species in the genus Isavirus which is in the family Orthomyxoviridae, related to the influenza viruses. It is an enveloped virus with a genome consisting in eight single-stranded negative-sense RNA segments. As the name implies, it causes severe anemia to Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) affecting fish farms in Canada, Norway, Scotland and Chile, causing severe losses to infected farms.
