Monilinia laxa
Description
The MonLax dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Monilinia laxa detection by using qPCR. Monilinia laxa is an ascomycete fungus belonging to Sclerotiniaceae family. It is one of the responsible for the brown rot blossom blight disease that infects many different types of stone fruit trees, such as apricots, cherries and peaches. M. laxa can colonize blossoms, twigs and fruit, but is generally considered more of a problem on blossoms and twigs. Throughout the entire world, brown rot is arguably the most common reason for crop loss of stone fruits both before and after harvest, especially in regions with warmer temperatures and wet climates. M. laxa is commonly found in United States, Europe, South Africa, and Chile.
