Mycobacterium abscessus
Description
The MycbAbs dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Mycobacterium abscessus detection by using qPCR. Mycobacterium abscessus is a multidrug-resistant mycobacteria able to grow rapidly, which belongs to the Mycobacteriaceae family. It can cause infections in most human organs, being the most common the chronic lung infection and skin and soft tissue infection. Immunocompromised patients are more prone to suffer from these infections, which are difficult to treat because of antimicrobial dug resistance. M. abscessus is a common contaminant of water and soil, but it can even be present in medications and medical devices.
