Mycoplasma gallisepticum and M. gallisepticum vaccine strain 6/85
Description
The MycGal&Mg 6/85 dtec-qPCR Duplex comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of Mycoplasma gallisepticum and the vaccine strain 6/85 by using qPCR. Mycoplasma gallisepticum is a bacterium belonging to the family Mycoplasmataceae. It is the causative agent of chronic respiratory disease in chickens. It also causes infectious sinusitis in turkeys, chickens, game birds, pigeons, and passerine birds of all ages. These diseases affect chickens and turkeys worldwide. It’s the cause of the most significant economic losses in large commercial operations. M. gallisepticum is transmitted vertically within some eggs from infected breeders to progeny, and horizontally via infectious aerosols and through contamination of feed, water, and the environment. Most commercial flocks are M. gallisepticum free, however, the disease is most frequently introduced from noncommercial flocks. M. gallisepticum strain 6/85 is the most widely used live vaccine to inmunize flocks against Mycoplasma gallisepticum, thus differentiation from pathogenic strains is essential for disease control in farms. The use of this duplex, allows the confirmation of the presence of M. gallisepticum by discarding positive results due to the vaccine strain 6/85.
