The MycSyn dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Mycoplasma synoviae detection by using qPCR. Mycoplasma synoviae is a species of bacteria in the genus Mycoplasma, characterized for the lack of a cell wall around their cell membrane. Mycoplasma synoviae causes disease in the joints, bones and respiratory system of birds. It is of economic relevance for the poultry industry because infection can cause a drop in egg production. Transmission occurs both vertically and horizontally.
