Interleukin 6 Chicken
Description
The IL-6 Chicken GeneExpres RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed to detect expression of Interleukin 6 Chicken by using qPCR. Interleukin-6 is a multifunctional cytokine that plays a major role in regulating immune responses and acute phase reactions. It is produced by many different cell types and acts on B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, hepatocytes, hematopoietic progenitor cells, and cells of the central nervous system. IL-6 stimulates the inflammatory and auto-immune processes in many diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, depression, Alzheimer’s Disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple myeloma, prostate cancer, Behçet’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Circumstantial evidence has suggested that a functional homologue of mammalian IL-6 exists in chickens. IL-6 is one of the most pleiotropic interleukins released at sites of injury or infection.
