Description

The ORFV dtec-qPCR Test comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for ORF virus detection by using qPCR. ORF virus is a Parapoxvirus and belongs to the Poxviridae family. Like all members of that family, they are oval, relatively large and double-stranded DNA viruses. Orf is an exanthemous disease occurring primarily in sheep and goats and infection is commonly found throughout the world. It is also known as soremouth, contagious pustular dermatitis, infectious labial dermatitis, ecthyma contagiosum, thistle disease and scabby mouth. ORF virus is zoonotic so, it can also infect humans.
