Ruminococcus gnavus
Description
The RumGna dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Ruminococcus gnavus detection by using qPCR. Ruminococcus gnavus is an anaerobic, Gram-positive bacteria belonging to the Oscillospiraceae family. As other species of this genus, R. gnavus is member of the human gut microbiome. Several studies link an increased relative abundance of R. gnavus to inflammatory diseases including crohn’s disease, spondyloarthritis, eczema in infants, and pouchitis in ulcerative colitis patients who have undergone a total colectomy.
