Swine H1N1 influenza A virus

Description

The SIV-H1N1 dtec-RT-qPCR Test comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for Swine H1N1 influenza A virus detection by using qPCR. Influenza A viruses are negative-sense, single-stranded, segmented RNA viruses belonging to the family Orthomyxoviridae. Swine H1N1 influenza A virus is one of the subtypes responsible of the swine influenza, which can infect humans through a zoonotic transmission from pigs to humans. In 2009 started to be spreading from person to person through airborne droplets, causing a world-wide pandemic. It is now a human seasonal flu virus that also circulates in pigs. Like the regular flu, swine flu can lead to more serious problems including pneumonia, lung infection, and other breathing problems.
