Trueperella pyogenes (syn. Arcanobacterium pyogenes)

Description

The TruPyo dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Trueperella pyogenes (syn. Arcanobacterium pyogenes) detection by using qPCR. Trueperella pyogenes (formerly Arcanobacterium pyogenes) is a non-motile, anaerobic facultative, Gram-positive bacterium belonging to the Actinomycetaceae family. T. pyogenes is found in the skin and mucosa of cattle, goats, horses, musk deer, pigs, sheep, and less frequently appears in birds as pigeons and turkeys. Under specific and favourable conditions it is involved in cutaneous and systemic abscesses, mastitis, metritis, and pneumonia. That, lead to a reduction in feed conversion, reduced life expectancy, confiscation of carcasses at slaughter, low fertilisation rates and cause early embryonic death.
