Yellow fever virus

Description

The YFV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Yellow fever virus  detection by using qPCR. Yellow fever virus is an RNA virus of the genus Flavivirus, capable of causing yellow fever, typically a short-duration disease. Symptoms include fever, chills, loss of appetite, nausea, muscle pains, and headaches. In 15% of affected people, liver damage occurs, increasing the risk of bleeding and kidney failure. This virus is transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito, primarily Aedes aegypti, and infection should be confirmed by PCR since the disease is difficult to distinguish from other illnesses. Yellow fever virus affects humans and other primates, and it is often found in tropical and subtropical areas due to the distribution of its vectors. A safe and effective vaccine is available.
