Dr. Antonio Martínez-Murcia at 2% rank of most cited authors

Dr. Antonio Martinez-Murcia has always been pioneering early scientific contributions in phylogeny and genetic testing methods of application in prokaryotic systematics. Is the co-author of more than 100 scientific publications, book chapters, a patented PCR method (1994), co-director of 8 doctoral theses, and the description of 16 new bacterial species. Now, he has been mentioned among the most cited authors in the world.

 

A study made by Stanford University (California, USA) with data from the academic publishing company ELSEVIER has analyzed scientific acuthor activity using the c-index. Taking into account authors with at least 5 papers published, carrer long data and single recent year data pertaining to citations received during last year. The selection is based on a percentile rank of 2% or above in the subfield of each author.

 

Thus his mentionting in this ranking, the University Miguel Hernandez, in which Dr. Martínez-Murcias has been a professor for over 30 years, is awarding him with a prize to research excelence 2023.
