The European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM) has invited Dr. Antonio Martínez-Murcia, president of the European Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (EAVLD), to the 8th International Conference, taking place at the University of Surrey (UK), from 2nd to 4th September 2026.

He will give a talk entitled: ‘Phylogenetic framework of zoonotic Aeromonas spp., a cornerstone for determinative diagnostics’.

The presentation will explore the zoonotic Aeromonas species, pathogens of fish and other animals including humans, and will show how a robust phylogenetic framework provides the foundation for developing specific qPCR-based methods for reliable diagnostics.
