Neonatal Porcine Diarrhoea GeneExpres

Description

The Neonatal Porcine Diarrhoea GeneExpres RT-qPCR-Panel-6 comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Escherichia coli toxA, eae, faeG, Clostridium difficile tcdA cpa and Clostridium perfringens cpb2 detection by using qPCR. Of all the diseases in the sucking piglet, diarrhoea is the most common and probably the most important. The consequences of profuse, watery diarrhoea will be a rapid loss of water, electrolytes, and nutrients. Due to the limited body reserves of the new-born piglet, this will soon lead to a severe condition and the piglet may die within hours. The NPDiarrhoea-Panel-6 allows to evaluate the mRNA expression of six virulence factors from different organisms related with neonatal pig diarrhoea. The E. coli genes: toxA, coding for the heat-labile enterotoxin (LT); eae, coding for the intimine and faeG, coding for the F4 fimbriae. The gene tcdA coding for the C. difficile toxin A. Genes cpa and cpb2 coding for the alpha and beta 2 toxins from C. perfringens.
