Borrelia spp
Description
The BorSpp dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Borrelia spp. detection by using qPCR. Borrelia is a bacterial genus of spirochetes which includes several species capable of causing Lyme disease and others that provoke relapsing fever. Most cases of Lyme disease have been reported in temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, causing an expanding red rash in above 70% of the cases. These bacteria can be transmitted by infected ticks or lice depending on the species, usually affecting humans though ticks in the nymph stage of development, as they are smaller and less noticeable.
