Chicken anemia virus
Description
The CAV dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Chicken anemia virus detection by using qPCR. Chicken anemia virus is a non-enveloped icosahedral single stranded DNA virus, which is the only member of the genus Gyrovirus of the Circoviridae family. It is a ubiquitous pathogen that affects chickens worldwide. Chicken anemia virus causes bone marrow atrophy, anaemia, and severe immunosuppression. Clinical manifestations of the disease are rare because of the widespread practice of vaccinating, nevertheless, the subclinical form of the disease is ubiquitous. Usually, the virus is horizontally transmitted via the faecal-oral route, and it can affect poultry older than two weeks of age. The virus is highly resistant in the environment, making elimination very difficult.
