Chlamydia spp.
Description
The ChlSpp dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Chlamydia spp. detection by using qPCR. Chlamydia is a genus of pathogenic bacteria that are obligate intracellular parasites. Chlamydia species are found in virtually all vertebrate and invertebrate animals, being responsible of causing most common sexually transmitted diseases in humans. These bacteria are the leading cause of infectious blindness worldwide. This genus includes C. trachomatis (human pathogen), C. suis (affects only swine), C. muridarum (affects only mice and hamsters) and recently proposed species C. avium, C. gallinacean and C. felis.
