Duck hepatitis A virus type 1

Description

The DHAV-1 RT-epPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of Duck hepatitis A virus type 1 by using epPCR. Duck hepatitis A virus type 1 (formerly Duck hepatitis virus type I) is a positive single strained RNA virus, belonging to Avihepatovirus genus. DHAV-1 is one of the causative agents of duck hepatitis, consisting in an acute, highly contagious, viral disease of young ducklings characterized by a short incubation period, sudden onset, high mortality, and characteristic liver lesions. DHAV-1 is distributed all over the world having significant economic importance in all duck-raising areas. It is present in Northern America, Europe and Asia.
