Gallibacterium anatis
Description
The GalAna dtec-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for detection of Gallibacterium anatis by using qPCR. Gallibacterium anatis, also known as Pasteurella anatis, is a Gram-negative, nonmotile, penicillin-sensitive coccobacillus belonging to the family Pasteurellaceae. These bacteria cause zoonotic infections in humans that manifest themselves as skin or soft tissue infections after an animal bite. This species is a pathogen of poultry but very little is known about its genetics and pathogenesis. The species Gallibacterium anatis is of particular interest in veterinary medicine because it infects the reproductive organs of laying hens, reducing egg production.
