Theileria velifera

Description

The TheVel dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Theileria velifera detection by using qPCR. Theileria is a genus comprising intracellular parasitic protozoans transmitted by various tick species. One of its members, Theileria velifera, is predominantly found in Africa and has the capability to affect both cattle and buffalo. Although this organism is generally non-pathogenic, the epidemiology of theileriosis is complex. The likelihood of disease occurrence hinges on the intricate interplay of the parasite, vertebrate host, tick vector, and environmental factors.
