Campylobacter hepaticus
Description
The CamHepdtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Campylobacter hepaticus detection by using qPCR. Campylobacter hepaticus is a Gram-negative, microaerobic, single polar flagellated bacterium belonging to the Campylobacteraceae family. It is responsible of the spotty liver disease, a persistent problem in the Australian and UK poultry industries for several decades. Affected flocks can have a reduction in egg production of up to 25 %, and an increase in mortality up to 10 %. Due to the low growing rates and the absence of fully selective media, molecular methods are useful tools for detection.
