Chlamydia psittaci
Description
The ChlPsi dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Chlamydia psittaci detection by using qPCR. Chlamydia psittaci is an intracellular bacterium of the genus Chlamydia that can survive outside a host. In birds can lead to endemic avian chlamydiosis, a condition that is characterized by severe symptoms and, ultimately, can result in death. Stress is often a triggering factor for the manifestation of these severe symptoms. This bacterium is also responsible for epizootic outbreaks in mammals and psittacosis in humans. C. psittaci is transmitted by inhalation, contact or ingestion. Due to the high mobility of birds, they are excellent vectors for the distribution of the bacteria.
