Dermanyssus gallinae
Description
The DerGal dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Dermanyssus gallinae detection by using qPCR. Dermanyssus gallinae, commonly known as the red mite, is an ectoparasite affecting poultry and identified as a potential vector for various significant pathogenic diseases. With a broad spectrum of hosts, including diverse species of wild birds and mammals, these mites can also infest humans, leading to gamasoidosis. Rapid population growth of these mites can result in anemia, particularly impacting young birds within affected poultry flocks. Furthermore, their role as potential vectors extends to diseases such as salmonellosis, avian spirochaetosis, and Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, indirectly influencing the overall health of avian populations.
