Dermanyssus gallinae, commonly known as the red mite, is an ectoparasite affecting poultry and identified as a potential vector for various significant pathogenic diseases. With a broad spectrum of hosts, including diverse species of wild birds and mammals, these mites can also infest humans, leading to gamasoidosis. Rapid population growth of these mites can result in anemia, particularly impacting young birds within affected poultry flocks.
