Equine infectious anemia virus
Description
The EqIAV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Equine infectious anemia virus detection by using qPCR. Equine infectious anemia virus is a lentivirus from the family Retroviridae. It causes a horse disease commonly known as swamp fever which is transmitted by body secretions, blood, or milk and bloodsucking insects mainly biting flyes. Disease usually starts with acute symptoms which are potentially fatal (not often) and a high transmission risk. The disease can become chronic if the animal survives the acute phase. Equine infectious anemia virus is endemic in the Americas, some parts of Europe, the Middle and Far East, Russia, and South Africa.
