Hepatitis A virus
Description
The HAV dtec-RT-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Hepatitis A virus detection by using qPCR. Hepatitis A virus (also know as Hepatovirus A) is a non-enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus of the family Picornaviridae, genus Hepatovirus. Humans and other vertebrates serve as natural hosts. Hepatitis A virus causes an inflammation of the liver that can cause mild to severe illness. Primary transmission routes are either faecal-oral when an uninfected person ingests food or water contaminated with the faeces of and infected person or transmitted through direct contact with an infectious person. Hepatitis A viruses persist in the environment and can withstand food production processes routinely used to inactivate or control bacterial pathogens.
