Klebsiella pneumoniae
Description
The KlePne dtec-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for Klebsiella pneumoniae detection by using qPCR. Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium from the Enterobacteriaceae family. Although found in the normal flora of the mouth, skin, and intestines, K. pneumoniae can cause different types of healthcare-associated infections, including pneumonia, bloodstream infections, wound or surgical infections, urinary tract infection and meningitis. Despite the most common condition caused outside the hospital is pneumonia, in recent years, Klebsiella species have become important pathogens in nosocomial infections.
