Mycoplasma conjunctivae
Description
The MycCon dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Mycoplasma conjunctivae detection by using qPCR. Mycoplasma conjunctivae is a member of the Mycoplasma genus, characterized for the lack of a cell wall around their cell membrane. M. conjunctivae is the etiological agent of the infectious keratoconjunctivitis, a clinical condition that affects small domestic and wild ruminants. While in sheep and goats usually appears in form of transitory blindness causing little concern and economic consequences, pathogenicity to wild species is generally high though variable, causing outbreaks with morbidity and mortality up to 30%.
