Enterococcus spp.
Description
The EntSpp dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Enterococcus spp. detection by using qPCR. Enterococcus is a large genus (more than 50 species) of Gram-positive lactic acid bacteria of the phylum Firmicutes. Enterococcus spp are a collective group of bacteria which are part of the normal faecal microbiota. The most common species are E. faecalis and E. faecium. Important clinical infections caused by Enterococcus species include urinary tract infections, bacteraemia, bacterial endocarditis, diverticulitis, and meningitis.
