Escherichia coli Heat-stable toxin B
Description
The EscCol-HSTB dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Escherichia coli Heat-stable toxin B detection by using qPCR. Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium. Is usually harmless and constitutes an important part of a healthy human intestinal tract. However, some strains can cause diseases. Pathogenic strains of E. coli are transmitted through ingestion of contaminated water or food, and through contact with infected animals or people. The toxicity of these strains is caused by the ability of this species to produce toxins. One of these toxins is the Heat-stable toxin B (HSTB) induces fluid loss by a hitherto undefined mechanism causing a moderate diarrhoeal response.
