Fretibacterium spp.
Description
The FreSpp dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Fretibacterium spp. detection by using qPCR. Fretibacterium spp. is an anaerobic, mesophilic, Gram-negative bacterial genus belonging to the family of Syneristaceae. Fretibacterium spp. has only been isolated from the human subgingival plaque. It is known to be related with periodontitis, which is an inflammatory disease that can cause bone destruction and tooth loss. This bacterial genus has been proposed as a biomarker for periodontitis, enabling a non-invasive method for the screening of large communities.
