Description
The HelPyl dtec-qPCR comprises a series of species-specific targeted reagents designed for Helicobacter pylori detection by using qPCR. Helicobacter pylori (previously Campylobacter pylori), is a Gram-negative, microaerophilic bacterium belonging to the family Helicobacteraceae. It is found usually in the stomach, where appears to inhabit the mucous layer overlying the gastric epithelial cells in humans. More than a half of the world’s population is carrier of H. pylori in their upper gastrointestinal tract. Up to 85% of people infected with H. pylori never experience symptoms or complications. But individuals infected, have a 10 to 20% lifetime risk of developing peptic ulcers and a 1 to 2% risk of acquiring stomach cancer.
