Mycoplasma spp. cluster 1

Description

The MycpSpp-1 dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Mycoplasma spp. cluster 1 detection by using qPCR. Mycoplasma is a genus of bacteria that lack a cell wall around their cell membrane. There are no free-living Mycoplasma, they are strictly parasites. They parasitize, on the surface or intracellularly, a wide range of organism including humans, plants, animals, and insects. Many species of Mycoplasma are commensal, living innocuously with their host as part of the natural flora of the body, with no detrimental effects. But when Mycoplasma act as pathogen they cause chronic but mild infections that rarely kill their host. More than 100 species have been included in the genus Mycoplasma with a high degree of diversity.  The MycpSpp dtec-qPCR is specific for the no-mycoides cluster, marked in green in the phylogenetic tree included on the MycpSpp Annex.
