Entamoeba spp.
Description
The EntbSpp dtec-qPCR comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Entamoeba spp. detection by using qPCR. Entamoeba spp. is a genus of Amoezoboa which includes endoparasitic amoeba species, some parasitizing the human intestine. Entamoeba spp. can affect primates, dogs, cats, cattle and pigs. Species belonging to this genus are usually accepted as commensal organisms located in the large intestine, but some are pathogenic, being able to cause diarrhoea, dysentery or liver abscess. Transmission occurs due to contact with infected fecal matter. Microscopic examination cannot accurately distinguish between pathogenic species and innocuous individuals.
